This collaboration commenced after a thorough selection process, highlighting the firm's alignment with Apple’s exacting standards. Specializing in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering, L2S has expertly handled extensive functional commissioning tests at various Apple research and development facilities. In 2023, the team completed detailed performance testing over 160,000 square feet, assessing systems including power distribution, lighting controls, and fire safety. This partnership not only showcases L2S Engineering’s dedication to engineering excellence and sustainability but also affirms its capability to meet the rigorous demands of leading global corporations.

L2S Engineering, LLC is leading a critical renovation of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Laboratory Science Center. This 34,277 square-foot facility is undergoing a major transformation to enhance its forensic analysis capabilities. This project, pivotal for national security, includes a comprehensive redesign of the building's power distribution system to achieve energy independence through microturbines, photovoltaic panels, UPS, diesel generators, and a sophisticated microgrid system.
The renovation is being executed in multiple phases, starting with upgrades to the electrical infrastructure to support mission-critical operations. Subsequent phases will introduce advanced HVAC systems, ultra-purity gas installations for laboratory applications, and cutting-edge analytical equipment, including GC/MS units. Additionally, safety enhancements like custom-designed snorkel systems and fume hoods are being installed to provide a safe and efficient environment for sensitive forensic activities.

L2S Engineering, LLC proudly announces the successful completion of the FDA Beltsville, MD Laboratory, a state-of-the-art 20,000 sq. ft. facility designed and built for the Food and Drug Administration's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER). This innovative laboratory includes six specialized, explosion-proof laboratories, optimizing safety and efficiency for the research and validation of both powder and liquid pharmaceuticals. Additionally, the project encompasses an 8,000 sq. ft. area dedicated to office and administrative functions.
The facility boasts a sophisticated electrical system equipped with new switchgear, UPS, and a backup generator to ensure uninterrupted operations. The mechanical setup includes two custom air handling units within a comprehensive climate control system, ensuring redundancy and maintaining precise environmental conditions critical for sensitive research activities. Further enhancing its capabilities, the facility includes a chilled and hot water central plant, a state-of-the-art deionized water system, and an ultra-high purity gas distribution systems.

This state-of-the-art facility features a suite of bespoke laboratories, each meticulously tailored to accommodate the diverse and exacting demands of pioneering research in fields such as space science, cyber operations and health sciences. Key highlights include a specialized microwave laboratory with advanced electrical solutions for uninterrupted power supply, and an automotive electronics testing lab, equipped with a temperature-controlled dynamometer room. Both labs benefit from stringent environmental controls, including custom-designed 100% outdoor air handling units to meet precise temperature and humidity requirements. Supported by a robust diesel generator system and multiple uninterrupted power sources, the facility ensures clean and stable power delivery to all sensitive equipment, cementing L2S Engineering, LLC's status as a leader in delivering specialized MEP solutions for complex research environments.
